Pamela Kelly , Governing Board President

Pamela Kelly was elected to the Governing Board in 2004. Her current term on the board expires December 31, 2013.

Mrs. Kelly and her husband John have lived in the Madison School District for 11 years. They have four children Alison, Fenton, Owen and Warren. Owen and Warren currently attend Madison Traditional Academy. Mrs. Kelly received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications from the Arizona State University. She is a former member and chair of Cross Roads Preschool, committee chair for Madison Simis P.A.T.S. and Madison Meadows P.T.M.

Mrs. Kelly believes that "we must look hard at our students' achievement and make the commitment to provide all of the necessary tools for them to truly excel." It is her hope that the Madison School District hire teachers with diverse backgrounds who have graduated from various universities. It is important to Mrs. Kelly that we retain our educators and build their loyalty to the Madison School District.

Kendra Tollackson , Governing Board Clerk

Kendra Tollackson was elected the Governing Board in November 2006. This term will expire December 31, 2010.

Ms. Tollackson and her husband have lived in the Madison School District for thirteen years. They have two children who currently attend Madison Simis and Madison Meadows. She is a graduate of Smith College and completed a Masters Degree in Business Administration at Arizona State University.

As a volunteer within the Madison District she has spent many hours assisting teachers in K-3 classrooms, and served on the Madison Simis Site Council. She helped develop the successful "Every Child Can Read" program at Simis-an early intervention program for struggling readers. She currently works part-time as a fundraising consultant to local non-profit organizations.

Ms. Tollackson believes that the Madison School District faces many challenges, especially when it comes to allocating scarce resources among competing priorities. She is in favor of directing more resources toward teacher salaries and classroom support. She will also work to direct resources to proven early intervention programs, and to improve communication channels between the School Board and its constituents.

Scott Holcomb , Governing Board Member

Scott Holcomb was elected to the Governing Board in 2004. His current term on the board expires December 31, 2013.

Mr. Holcomb has lived in the Madison School District for twenty years and has three children currently attending Madison schools. Mr. Holcomb received his Bachelor of Science degree in Speech from Iowa State University, and obtained his law degree from the University of Iowa. He is an active member of the Camelback Kiwanis Club, Camp Fire of Arizona, and the Kenilworth School Site Council.

Mr. Holcomb believes public education is grossly underfunded and that we must all work together to get the most "bang for our buck" out of the funding we have, and everyone should strive to get additional funding to support our children's education.
