Madison Heights Information
|
School Dress Code The students at Madison Heights school wear uniforms. The uniform choices are as follows:
|
General Information School Arrival : Students are allowed to arrive at school beginning at 7:15. Dropping off your child earlier than that is dangerous. The bell for school rings at 7:43 and the beginning of the day is at 7:45. It is so important that your child arrives to school on time and prepared for a full day of learning.
Parents Drop Off : We have two zones for dropping off students at school in the morning. The Kindergarten students depart cars on the upper circle so that they have a direct line to their playground. ALL other students should be dropped in the back of the school in the parent drop off zone. Please pull up to where the duty teacher is standing before allowing your child to exit the car. We would appreciate everyone's cooperation with this in order to keep our students safe. Both zones are drop and go only. If you need to assist your child after drop off please park your car in a parking spot or along the street.
Changes in Pickup : If your child will be going home from school in a different way, please send a written note to his/her teacher notifying her of the dates and changes. However, we know that emergencies arise. If you need to change the way your child will be going home from school, but did not send a note, please call into the school office by 2:00. At 2:20 we make calls into the classrooms to notify teachers and students of any changes. Last minute changes are always difficult to manage, so we appreciate a written note. We cannot accept the child's verbal change without a note or call from you.
Parent PickUp : Our new parent pick up area is quite efficient! We are pleased with how quickly we are able to get all students into the correct cars in about 15 minutes per day! We really appreciate those parents that drive through the line and let us help your child into the car. This is the fastest and safest way for students to be picked up. If you do not wait in the line with your car, we do ask that you wait for your child at the outside the yellow boxed area just north of the pickup area so that there is less congestion in the waiting area for students. We also ask that you use the sidewalk to cross at the driveway. Crossing in front of cars in the pickup line is dangerous and does not set a good example for safety for your children. In everything we do, our children are watching and learning. Let's make sure we are setting good examples for them. |
Technology at Heights Madison Heights School thanks the voters for their support of the TechnologyBond! Madison School District won a national award for excellence in technology planning. We have six computers and a printer in everyclassroom. There is also a computer lab, AV equipment, digital cameras, interactive whiteboards (Smartboards), wireless laptop carts (COW's), and a centralized videodistribution system. Students use computers for phonics and literacy (Waterford) practice, Rosetta Stone, and formative (beginning of the year) testing. |
