The Madison Adventure Club program provide safe, affordable high quality before and after school care by trained staff for Madison School District students in grades K-8. All school-based MAC programs are licensed by the Arizona Department of Health Services. MAC programs qualify for DES tuition Assistance.
The Madison MAC embraces the concept that high quality before and after school programs can positively support greater engagement in learning and increased academic achievement. Research indicates that after school programs can help students behave better in school, have better work habits, encourage higher educational aspirations, improved attitudes toward school, a greater sense of belonging in the community, and better relationships with parents. Based on this, the MAC/MCC Program strives to support students to be successful in school, at home and in life.

MAC Program Framework
The MAC Program is a before and afterschool childcare and enrichment program, designed to provide Madison School District students with a wide variety of experiences that extend the school day. Whether activities are recreational or highly structured and focused, all MAC experiences should support learning and academic achievement.
The MAC Program is designed to provide students with:
· Safe, positive and fun learning environments
· Positive peer group experiences
· Opportunities for character development
· Hands-on activities that hold students' interest and develop their skills and sense of competence.
· Positive experiences with adult role models
Character Counts!
Character Counts! is a nonprofit, nonpartisan, nonsectarian character education framework that teaches the Six Pillars of Character: trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring and citizenship.
Activities that support the six core ethical values from Character Counts! will be used on a daily basis in the afterschool program. The Six Pillars of Character will follow the 6-day rotation schedule for the District. At least one after school student activity will specifically address the pillar of character for that day.
Day 1: Trustworthiness
Day 2: Respect
Day 3: Responsibility
Day 4: Fairness
Day 5: Caring
Day 6: Citizenship
Through Character Counts activities, students will gain important experiences to help them be successful in school, at home and in life. Activities will support greater engagement in learning and higher academic performance.
