  **BUDGET UPDATE**  
To keep the Madison community aware of the State's budget and its impact on Madison schools, we have created a separate section for all budget related information.

Visit this page for information on Arizona's budget, the components of school finance, where tax dollars are directed, and what this all means for Madison. All documents, presentations, and important dates can also be found there.

Announcements

Gifted Testing Scheduled
Testing for Madison's gifted programs is scheduled for mid-November.  Students in Grades 3-5 will be tested on November 15 and students in Grades 6-8 will be tested on November 16; testing is from 8:45 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on both days. Testing takes place in Room 132 at Madison No.1. Please call 602-664-7934 to register your child. For more information visit the Gifted Programs page.

Unclaimed AIMS Scores Will Be Sent Home with Students
AIMS test scores that were not picked up from the front office of your child's school this summer will be sent home with students early into the new school year.  Please read this letter for more information. 

Madison Wins Magna Award
Madison is the recipient of the American School Board Journal's 2010 Magna Award. This national award recognizes school districts across the country for taking bold and innovative steps to improve their educational programs. Madison won the grand prize for their CATNIP program. CATNIP (Classroom Applications of Technology-New Incentive Program) allows classroom teachers the opportunity to take technology training courses and earn equipment for their classrooms.

Madison to Offer Free Full Day Kindergarten
Despite the elimination of state funding for Full Day Kindergarten, Madison plans to continue offering Free Full Day K at all five elementary schools. Enrollment is open to all families including those living outside the district boundaries.  Visit the "Schools" section to the left of this page for locations and contact information. Should the district experience more drastic cuts than anticipated, this offering may be reevaluated.

Madison Excels in AZ LEARNS
All eight of Madison's schools received labels of Excelling or Highly Performing on their AZ LEARNS labels, the highest labels awarded. Madison Heights, Madison Simis, Madison Traditional Academy, and Madison Meadows all received Excelling labels. Madison Camelview, Madison Park, Madison Rose Lane, and Madison No. 1 all received Highly Performing labels.

Madison is the only elementary school district in Maricopa County in which all schools received either an excelling or highly performing label.
