Odyssey of the Mind
Odyssey of the Mind is an international educational program that provides creative problem-solving opportunities for students from kindergarten through college. Team members apply their creativity to solve problems ranging from building mechanical devices to presenting their own interpretation of literary classics. They then bring their solutions, in the form of an eight-minute skit, to competitions on the local, state, and world level. Thousands of teams from throughout the U.S. and from about 25 other countries participate in the program.
Are you an inquiring mind? Do you take risks with your learning? Do you want to learn more about robotics? If so, then the Simis Robotics Club is the place to be! We will be learning to build, and program Lego Mindstorm NXT robots. Using these skills we will apply our knowledge to solve challenges of movement, as well as working on solutions for how robotics can make a difference in the world.
Robotics meets every Tuesday from September 18 – Feburary 26 from 2:45pm – 4:45pm in Ms. Jay’s fourth grade classroom. Cost is $250 per student. Robotics is by invitation only.
