From Our Community

photo of parent Nick Verderame

"The community at Simis is great. The teachers have been wonderful. It's got a reputation for being a bigger school but the teachers do a great job with one on one attention to students and are always able to speak very informedly about your child, what would be good for your child, and what your child may need to improve on. It's really clear when you get to know the staff at Madison Simis, how much effort, time, and thought they put in to making sure that your child a great social experience but also gets pushed academically so they keep moving forward."

"Madison No.1 Middle School is a remarkable Preforming Arts School.  Our daughters not only received an outstanding academic education, but also the amazing opportunity for advanced theater, dance, music, art and several others electives. The staff are supportive and encouraging to the students, adding to the overall school experience.  The PTO has a strong commitment to the students, staff, and community by supporting school events, providing grants for teachers, and encouraging involvement in Madison No. 1 Middle School."

"My kids have thrived at Rose Lane over the years. The experienced teachers and staff bring joy every day in learning, and the arts programs have allowed an outlet for the students to find their voice and self-acceptance. Countless times the teachers and administration has gone above and beyond to meet the individual needs of my kids and others to make sure they are successful academically and emotionally. The school community is also very active, inclusive, and fun!"

"I love Madison Heights for its location, offering high-quality education, and parent involvement.  The school  is nestled near the beautiful Piestewa Peak mountain. The view of the mountain is stunning from the front of the school.  The  high-quality education my children receive in English and Spanish comes from highly- talented and passionate educators who love their subject matter and the students they teach. The Heights PTO is very active and involved with every aspect of the school from volunteering in the classroom/school wide events, providing food for staff appreciation and teaching Arts Masterpiece. Parents are a big part of the school. Thank you Madison Heights!"

"Madison Park School clearly demonstrates its commitment to student success through its personalized guidance and support. This is the positive influence that Madison Park School has had on my child."

"We made the decision 9 years ago to start our oldest at Madison Traditional Academy and I am so grateful that we did. We value the traditional teaching that MTA offers and believe it has completely set up our oldest for success as he enters high school. The teachers and staff have been absolutely wonderful and we are so appreciative to now have Mr. Merrill as our principal who genuinely loves and cares for each and every student. The values, memories and character development that the teachers, staff and MTA community instilled in my children will forever be a part of who they are as they grow up."

Madison Elementary School District recently broke ground on the full rebuild of the Madison Rose Lane Elementary School campus, located at Rose Lane and 12th Street. Designed by Grace Design Studios and constructed by McCarthy Building Companies, Inc., the preschool–4th grade campus will be fully transformed by summer 2027.

“This marks an exciting new chapter in the legacy of Madison Rose Lane,” said Superintendent Dr. Kimberly Guerin. “We’re grateful to our partners for honoring the heart of this community while creating a state-of-the-art campus focused on the visual and performing arts.”

Home to over 600 students, Rose Lane offers a signature program in the arts. The rebuild—funded by the 2023 voter-approved bond — includes a new two-story classroom building, music and dance studios, a preschool wing, and a dynamic multipurpose performing arts venue with an indoor-outdoor stage. New MAC (Madison Adventure Club) spaces, athletic fields, expanded parking, and a district-wide training center are also part of the phased construction plan.

Students will engage with the process through construction tours, classroom visits, and hands-on learning.

“This project is about more than just new buildings,” said Biby Carbonneau of Grace Design Studios. “It’s about creating an inspiring place where creativity and learning thrive.”

We thank our community voters for their strong support of the bond initiative that made this and other important projects benefiting Madison students possible.

We officially broke ground on the future Madison Rose Lane Elementary School, and we couldn’t have done it without our community. A heartfelt thank you to our incredible voters for supporting the bond overrides, to our dedicated staff, inspiring students, and passionate community members who made this dream a reality.

Special thanks to McCarthy Construction and Orcutt | Winslow for partnering with us to build a space that will empower the next generation of leaders in our ever-changing world
