Ms. Mooney was nominated by Abra, the parent of one of Ms. Mooney’s former students. “I felt like in his year with you, he grew so much as a person, and that’s what any parent hopes happens with their kid. ๐ BREAKING NEWS! 2023-2024 School and district letter grades have been announced and we are so excited to share that ALL eight of our schools have earned a designation of an “A” or “B”! The Madison School District has received the letter grade of an “A” as a district! ๐
Each year, the Arizona Department of Education, subject to final adoption by the State Board of Education, develops an annual achievement profile for every public school and school district in the state based on an A through F scale.
We would like to thank our incredible, dedicated staff, working hand-in-hand with parents and community members to help us continue to provide an outstanding educational experience for each and every Madison student!
Thanks to a generous grant from Arizona Public Service (APS), Madison No. 1 Middle School has enhanced its campus with 66 new trees for students and the community to enjoy.
On October 24, staff volunteers from APS, alongside Madison School District staff and students, gathered to plant these new trees around the school grounds.
Through its Community Tree Program, APS collaborates with Title 1 schools, non-profit organizations, neighborhood associations, cities, and towns in lower-income areas to supply trees and support their planting. Since the initiative began in 2022, APS has successfully planted over 1,300 trees.
The newly planted trees at Madison No. 1 Middle School will provide additional shade and cooling benefits, both on campus and along the community sidewalks on 16th Street and Missouri.
