Remote K-1-2 Learning
Madison School District is offering a virtual option known as Remote Learning K-2 for our Kindergarten through second grade students. Families who have children in grades 3rd through 8th may sign up for our Madison Virtual Academy.
Remote K-2 is a traditional approach to online learning. Below is the current schedule:
Kinder: 7:45am - 10:15am
1 st Grade: 7:45 am – 1:00 pm (Lunch 11:15-12:00)
2 nd Grade: 7:45 am – 1:00 pm (Lunch 11:15-12:00)
*Schedule is subject to change based on population
Each grade level has its own teacher providing live instruction throughout the day. The teacher will use a variety of ‘best practices’ that includes Kagan strategies, small groups, breaks, visual aids and breakout sessions. These teachers only teach online students and this is their only class. Students are provided with ‘in hands’ materials such as math, reading and science books. Electives, such as art, music and PE are not available for Remote K-2 students.
