Native American Program Overview

Working closely with schools in the Madison School District to create connections between teachers, parents, and organizations such as the Phoenix Indian Center & their Prevention Team, Native American Parent Committee, and other tribal and cultural organizations.

Helping students to develop a stronger sense of self and feel proud of their cultural backgrounds by meeting in Moccasins groups, and attending cultural events and cultural enrichment classes.

Helping students develop the leadership and communication skills necessary for navigating socially, teaching real resistance strategies (through Living in 2 Worlds) and by improving communication and strengthening relationships between families and schools.

Helping students develop the academic skills they need to better their futures and achieve their goals by providing reading and math interventions as well as tutoring when needed.

Supporting students and families by assisting in providing resources for families in need. Assisting with school supplies as well as activity fees and one athletic fee per school year.
