Welcome to Food & Nutrition Services
Welcome to Food & Nutrition Services. Our skilled and friendly staff is here to serve you. Breakfast is served 30 minutes prior to the beginning of the school day. All meals include healthy grains, lean proteins, a variety of fresh fruits and vegetables, and choice of nonfat white or flavored milk.
Below you will find information about school meals, payments and financial assistance, food and nutrition policies, and ways to get involved. If you don’t see what you need, feel free to contact us!
In order to practice social distancing and to keep our students, parents and staff safe, we have made the decision to implement a cashless meal service. We will no longer be accepting cash payments during the breakfast and lunch meal service.
Important Information & Updates:
Free Meals for On-Site Online Learners and In-Person Learners
All meals are free to all children 18 years of age and younger through June 30, 2022, regardless of eligibility or financial status. We encourage all students to utilize this free program to help financially support our staff and department costs. To view the full menu, please visit our menus page.
In-person student learners can receive breakfast and lunch for free by coming through the cafeteria line like they normally would at their school's designated meal time or order their meals with their teacher if they are being delivered to the classrooms on all enrolled school days Monday-Friday (school holidays and breaks are excluded).
Wearing a face mask is required for picking up meals. Please maintain physical distancing while on campus per the Madison School District School Opening Plan 2020-2021.
Summer Meal Info:
There are two opportunities where all children under 18 years old can receive free breakfast and lunch this summer. Children do not have to be enrolled in the Madison School District.
1. Tuesday Free Breakfast and Lunch & Thursday Weekend Meal Bundles: Madison Camelview Elementary School will be open every Tuesday and Thursday beginning June 22, 2021 and ending on July 22, 2021 from 9:30-10 AM. Please note that we will be closed on July 6th and 8th. On, Tuesdays and Thursdays, there will be opportunities for families to pick up breakfast and lunch for that day or for more days, called meal bundles. Breakfast and lunch or 2 Day Meal Bundles are available on Tuesday. Breakfast and lunch or 5 Day Meal Bundles are available on Thursdays. Breakfast and lunch are walk-in. Meal Bundles are available upon request by calling 602-664-7297 or by emailing Valerie Martinez. Parents can pick up meals for their children without a child present inside our cafeteria. Please note that masks and social distancing will still be required while on campus.
2. Free Bulk Bag Program: Madison No. 1 Middle School will be open every Wednesday beginning May 26, 2021 from 4-5:30 PM via car drive thru pick up service. This bulk bag program will continue for as long as pickup numbers remain consistent. These bulk bags include 7 days of breakfast and lunch for one child. Pre-orders are required in order to pick up a bulk bag for your child at https://bit.ly/2L1Kcy0. Pre-order forms close either when we reach our own max capacity or on the deadline, whichever occurs first. The deadline to submit bulk bag pre-orders for next week's distribution day is every Thursday at 1:00 PM. The pre-order form for bulk bags re-opens on Thursdays between 1:30-2:00 PM for the next earliest distribution day.
All meals until June 30, 2022, are free to any child 18 years of age and younger. This legislation was passed by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA). This is due to the commitment that USDA has made to ensure that all children across America have access to nutritious food as the nation recovers from the COVID-19 pandemic. In conjunction with the federal USDA, the State's own Arizona Department of Education (ADE) is able to reimburse a portion of the cost for every free meal served during this time frame for our school district. For more information, please see the USDA press release here: https://www.usda.gov/
media/press-releases/2020/10/. We welcome all children to participate in this program so that our department can continue to be successful. Additionally, we encourage our families to pay off any remaining balances accrued on their student's school meal accounts at this time. We ask that these remaining balance payments are done via cashless methods to ensure the safety for our staff. Payment can be made through check payment made out to Madison Food & Nutrition Services or online through our Titan Family Portal system https://family. 09/trump-administration- extends-free-meals-kids- entire-school-year titank12.com/. If you would like to donate an amount to help lower remaining meal account balances for other children in our District, please select the Feed it Forward option when making payments through the Titan Family Portal system. Thank you for your continued support of our program.
"Feed it Forward" and Help Madison Students
Did you know? Titan offers a “Feed it Forward” account which allows families to add an additional amount to their meal account payment to help provide meals to children.
This will allow Madison to collect donations into a school account and use the funds to help students purchase meals.
Thank you for supporting Madison students!
