MTA Interim Principal Recommendation June 2022

MTA Interim Principal Recommendation June 2022

Good afternoon MTA Families,

Please join me in congratulating Mr. Duff on his retirement from Madison Traditional Academy at the end of June. He has been a long-standing presence at MTA for the last 11 years and his leadership and dedication to the school and community is truly appreciated. Mr. Duff will be greatly missed.

After much thought and consideration, I am recommending to the Governing Board that former MTA  Assistant Principal and current Madison Meadows Assistant Principal, Chris Merrill, be approved as the Interim Principal for MTA. Mr. Merrill is a proven, committed leader in the Madison School District. His experience will provide a smooth transition into the 22-23 school year.

Please see the letter below from Mr. Merrill to MTA families.

As always, we thank you for your support and look forward to a year of learning and growth.

Dr. Kimberly Guerin

Incoming Madison Superintendent

Hello MTA Families,

My name is Chris Merrill and I am excited to be recommended as the next Interim Principal at Madison Traditional Academy.

My wife and I are proud to work in the Madison School District. I have been dedicated to serving the students and families of Madison for over 17 years. I am currently the Assistant Principal at Madison Meadows Middle School and I have been in various positions throughout my tenure at Madison. I started my career at Madison as a teacher at Madison Simis and have also served in administration at both the elementary and middle school levels.

MTA has a special place in my heart as I served as MTA assistant principal earlier in my career under Mr. Duff’s leadership.

I want to thank Mr. Duff for his dedication to MTA for the past 11 years. His mentorship, guidance, and support have been invaluable and he will be deeply missed by his colleagues and MTA families.

I look forward to starting the 22-23 school year with you and I am grateful to return to serving the MTA community.

Chris Merrill
