7/22/2020 - Delay of In-Person Learning

Posted by Madison Communications on 7/22/2020

Dear Madison Families,

In order to prioritize the safety of our students and staff, the Governing Board voted on and approved the delay of in-person learning until the end of the 1st Quarter (October 2) unless the data show it is safe to reopen sooner. All students will begin learning online on August 11.

We understand that this change could create additional challenges for our families. In order to support our students and families, the Madison School District will offer the following:

  • An in-person, online option for students. Students will have the option to complete their online learning at a physical location on the date the Governor reopens school currently, August 17.
  • MAC Before and After-School Program
  • Preschool

Due to the delay of in-person learning, registration days will also be delayed.

Registration days will be online on the following dates:

  • August 4- New Student Registration Kindergarten & 5th Grade
  • August 5- Returning Student Registration Last Name "A" through "L"
  • August 6 – Returning Student Registration Last Name "M" through "Z"

During registration days, families will have the opportunity to select if they would like their students to complete their online learning in-person on a Madison campus.

Registration will be completely online on the new District website, which will launch at the end of July.

Additional communication will be sent to families regarding preschool, before and after-school options and the Madison Virtual Academy.

The Madison School District will continue to follow CDC and State guidelines. If the Governor mandates a school closure, this plan will be modified.

We value and appreciate our Madison families. We thank you for your continued patience and support.

Respectfully,

Madison School District
